Volunteer
We consider our volunteers to be a major asset in helping the library run smoothly. The library uses the services of volunteers to supplement the duties and activities of paid staff. Volunteers assist with various tasks, including:
- Shelving materials
- Assist a librarian with program setup/clean up
- Clerical work
- Special projects
The first thing you would need to do is to fill out a Volunteer Service Agreement and return it to the library. If we have available volunteer opportunities, a library staff member will contact you to arrange times.
Please stop by the library to pick up an application or print out an online form and bring it in to the library.

The SBCPL is happy to have the help of teen volunteers, age 13 and older, throughout the year, whether volunteering for TN Promise, National Honor Society or another high school organization or because you would like to help out at the library!
The first thing you would need to do is to fill out a Teen Volunteer Application – all attached pages – and return it to the library. If we have available volunteer opportunities, a library staff member will contact you to arrange times.

Teen Volunteer Application.docxFor TN Promise:
While the SBCPL is happy to have volunteers and will do what is possible to help arrange volunteer hours, we cannot guarantee hours or a certain number of hours. You will first need to fill out and turn in the Teen Volunteer Application. If we have available volunteer opportunities, a library staff member will contact you to arrange times.
As TN Promise hours have specific deadlines during the year, we have specific deadlines for the applications and hours. All applications and/or arrangements for hours must be completed a minimum of 2 weeks before the appropriate TN Promise deadline.
